Born in L.A. and raised on the South Side of Chicago, I make paintings both about material abstraction and the importance of the liminal. The paintings are made from field notes and drawings that permeate the day-to-day. Themes of recycling, natural decay, time as a material, animal patterning, tessellations, organic and primordial forms and ambient lake landscapes flicker throughout the collage process that build and terrace each painting.
